The council are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Occupational Therapy Team Manager to lead their Adult Social Care and Therapy Team within Adult Social Care Point, Newcastle’s new multi-disciplinary front door to adult social care.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to shape how therapy supports people at the earliest point of contact with adult social care.
You will:
- Lead and manage a team including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapist, Falls Prevention Coordinator, Moving & Handling Coordinator as well as some social care colleagues delivering rapid, person-centred interventions.
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary hub alongside Adult Social CarePoint social work managers, to promote independence and reduce reliance on long-term care.
- Support the delivery and evaluation of innovative ideas, which aim to improve access to therapy and prevent hospital admissions.
- Champion strengths-based practice and preventative approaches across the service.
- Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and professional development for your team.
About You
- You’ll be a qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration and a strong background in adult social care. You’ll bring:
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- A passion for early intervention and enabling independence.
- Strong partnership working skills across health, social care, and voluntary sectors.
- A commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
